As I have stated in previous blogs, I like certain seasonings more than others, and use some an awful lot. When I first was informed of nutritional yeast I was not sure what to put it on, but I as I read the bottle and saw the nutritional value as well as the fact you could put it on many things, I began to try it in different foods. Now I find myself putting it on everything, I’m surprise I have not put it on ice cream…..kidding……maybe.
Because it adds nutrition to any meal and great flavor, I usually add a lot (unless its getting low). I also found it is a good replacement for salt (if you are trying to cut down), I have put it on popcorn and in grits in place of salt. Also because of its cheesy flavor, its great in grits if you are out of cheese (dairy free of course), unless you are like my wife and like your grits sweet. I was raised on cheesy grits. It’s a subtle flavor so it does not change the flavor of the meal, the way other seasonings can.
So if you have never had nutritional yeast before step out on a limb and go try some. You can start slow adding a little at a time, but trust me you will be using more and more as you get used to its flavor. So do I put that shit on everything? Yes!! And I will find more shit to put it on. Go forth and find your nutritional yeast!!
