Any one who knows me knows that if it is a metaphor, a reference or where to locate me it’s with the food. I enjoy food magazines, cooking shows, reading about food, plant-based diet and veganism. Am I constantly thinking about food, yes but not how you think, I’m not thinking of what I’ll eat next or how much I can eat. I think about different foods what I can do with them, what herbs or seasonings will go with them, if my family will like them, is it a kid friendly recipe or more for adults. In turn it helps me to plan my daily meals and my holiday meals. One holiday I asked everyone to pick one thing they wanted for the dinner, it turned out to be fun and the lest stressful meal I ever cooked.

When it comes to cooking I want people to enjoy my food and that tends to be my focus when creating recipes or making a meal, because truth be told, I like my cooking and even if no one else ate, I would gladly sit down and eat my food happily. So instead of taking that route I try to make dishes I know my family and friends will enjoy. Is that taking away from my true self, catering to others? NO, because whatever I serve up, I make sure that I will like the meal too!

Before I became vegan and started reading about plant-based diet, I used to love the fattier foods of life, the fast foods, the ooey gooey stuff. Currently I try to make creations that are tasty, healthy and good for the soul.  Healthy food does not have to be bland and boring, it’s about findings foods, flavors and seasonings that you relish and bring that to life. So is food on your mind, is it how to create something better, what you are going to eat next, or the conflict of if it is healthy to consume. Like an artist finds inspiration in nature, find enthusiasm in the many vegetables, fruits, and grains out there and create your masterpiece!! Let that be on you MIND!!!
