No Snack for You!!

Let’s set the scene, you are out talking, laughing, shopping, galavanting…whatever you do for fun. All of a sudden out of no where hunger rears its ugly head. What do you do? You say go get a snack. Ahhh but, easier said than done, most stores do not carry vegan snacks. Now you are back to square one, do you wait till you get home, go searching for a store that has vegan snacks, or just get a snack at the store cause you are too hungry and are about to explode in anger with the person you were just having a good time with. Well all those are great options, its your choice what to do in that moment, that will best help the situation.

Allow me to give you another option….. another option you say vegan foodie? YES! What if you made your own snacks. Benefits: you know what’s in your snacks, you can always take some with you, you can make up your own variety of snacks, and there are a ton of fruits and vegetables and grains out there. I have made myself a wonderful granola recipe that my family loves. You can make chips out of many vegetables; potatoes, squash, zucchini and plenty more. You can dry fruits and you do not need a dehydrator to do it you can use your oven (they show you on youtube). You can create dips like hummus.

So the next time you are stuck at the store cause you car broke down or you lost your keys (that was me shhhhhh!!) Or your went out and forgot to eat and end up famished, remember make your own snack, just don’t forget to take it with you!!
